I hate Microsoft

Do you know why Microsoft solutions are not good for developers? Possibly you are manager and you like booklets from this company (design, color, etc). Also there are a lot of demonstration clips, tons of specialized sites, benefits... smiles... assurances. It impresses. But for developers Microsoft solutions are not the best way to do there work. Could you say me why Microsoft still does not support simple functions from XPath like 'matches' or 'lower-case'. What can you say about XQuery? Does anybody know how to customize Reporting Services for MSSQL2000? How to write own renderer? No, you can not. Because sources are not provided. Because community don't want to make something for this company. The most productive strategy for Big Company is cooperating with open source community. But it is not Microsoft strategy. Could you compare different solutions based on .net and java. Costs and timelines. I want to compare it. I don't know what is result but I'm seeking now for a better life. Today I hate Microsoft because all day I've spent on fighting with MSXML. They even can not say that it does not support this one specification or this one feature. No, because this is a cute company they are saying inarticulatly that of cause we support this technology but we have improved it... I hate them. A lot of wasted time.
