• I got a lot of problems with sessions. It strange, but when I make window.open

I hate Microsoft

Do you know why Microsoft solutions are not good for developers? Possibly you are manager and you like booklets from this company (design, color, etc). Also there are a lot of demonstration clips, tons of specialized sites, benefits... smiles... assurances. It impresses. But for developers Microsoft solutions are not the best way to do there work. Could you say me why Microsoft still does not support simple functions from XPath like 'matches' or 'lower-case'. What can you say about XQuery? Does anybody know how to customize Reporting Services for MSSQL2000? How to write own renderer? No, you can not. Because sources are not provided. Because community don't want to make something for this company. The most productive strategy for Big Company is cooperating with open source community. But it is not Microsoft strategy. Could you compare different solutions based on .net and java. Costs and timelines. I want to compare it. I don't know what is result but I'm seeking now for a better life. Today I hate Microsoft because all day I've spent on fighting with MSXML. They even can not say that it does not support this one specification or this one feature. No, because this is a cute company they are saying inarticulatly that of cause we support this technology but we have improved it... I hate them. A lot of wasted time.

bad day

Today is a very strange day. I've found a cause of the yesterday bug and it plunged me into despair. It looks that I should rewrite a lot of code to make utility working correctly. Ghm... This is Beckham's bad day...

MathML

Few year ago I tried to publish math text to my web site. It turned out that this is a very difficult task. There were 2 ways how to do this: first is publishing all formulas in pictures, second is turning browser for special language (MathML) by installing different plugins. But these plugins were very freakish. Also at that time there were no programs for online editing of math text.
Today with help of Anya I returned to this problem and found a big progress. First of all my favorite FireFox browser supports MathML by default, secondly various auxiliary tools help us to make up math text without any headache. I found tons of editors for MathML, even online editors:

JotSpot research

JotSpot is not only Wiki. This is a powerfull office suit with blogs, spreadsheets, calendars, filestorage system, bugtracking system, project management system, etc. It is good enough for small IT busyness. The onliest thing which makes me doubting is privacy and safety. If I'll start to use this service, who can guarantee that service will be accessible uninterruptedly and possible server faults will not damage my data. But anyhow this is very interesting service which sets you to thinking about future of office software.

JotSpot is now part of Google

Recently I made a small research for our team about existing wiki enginies and using them in development process. One of the significant things was WYSIWYG editing. Almost all existing enginies are not enough smart with this option but JotSpot wiki is. Unfortunately this service was not flexible for our needs and unlike other wikies it was a chargeable service. Today I received a letter from JotSpot which notify that Google bought this service. Great news. I hope it gives a new life for this service and afterwards we will use it for our needs.
